Making a difference matters to Andrew Reynolds – and charitable work helps him do just that.
Andrew Reynolds explained “When I was young, I always promised myself that if I ever made any money, I would do something useful with it – rather than just fritter it away on the usual hollow and meaningless trappings of success. It sounds a little ‘trite’ but that’s how I was brought up and how I like to live my life.”
Andrew Reynolds is reluctant to talk about his charitable work, but from public record, we know he has twice raised more than a quarter of a million pounds for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, which went on to fund and build a multi-bed treatment room at the Hospital as well as providing funding for the cardiac unit too. Andrew Reynolds is also passionate about helping young people.
As well as contributing over £100,000 as a patron of The Prince’s Trust, to help young people in the community, we saw how making a difference matters on a very personal level to Andrew Reynolds – and getting involved closely with charitable work, both locally and nationally, helps Andrew Reynolds do just that.
Aside from taking on the role of ambassador to the Make A Wish Foundation – a wonderful children’s charity that provides wishes for children with life threatening illnesses, – a charity that he has personally raised over £1.2Million for in the space of a couple of years, Andrew Reynolds also funded the highly praised ‘Make Your Mark with a Tenner’ scheme to teach school kids nationwide about social enterprise. The Surrey-based Phyllis Tuck well Hospice recently benefited from a three-year rolling commitment from Andrew Reynolds to fund a community nursing team, to enable terminally sick people to spend their last days in their own homes.
